He emphasises the importance of integrating digital solutions to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency and deliver superior patient care. He also highlights the synergy among Dentsply Sirona’s various divisions and shares insights on emerging trends that will shape the future of dentistry, positioning the company as a leader in the industry.
Mr Frank, could you discuss the role of Dentsply Sirona’s new technologies and products, such as DS Core and the EV implant family, in advancing dental practices and improving patient outcomes?
At Dentsply Sirona, we’ve leveraged our 130 years of combined expertise in the dental industry to develop technologies and products designed to enhance dental practices and improve patient outcomes. Our role is to support and enable our customers to achieve their goals and realise their full potential. We serve as a catalyst, providing the inspiration, tools, education and support they need to advance with confidence throughout their careers. Our commitment to digital dentistry is a cornerstone of our strategy. We are continually innovating and expanding our digital solutions portfolio to provide a unique customer experience.
One of our key innovations is the DS Core platform, a cloud solution developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. DS Core serves as the gateway to the digital universe of Dentsply Sirona. We believe that DS Core can be a force multiplier for the modern digital dental practice, bringing together connected technology with trusted workflows and thereby making it easier for dental professionals to advance and achieve their goals. By placing DS Core at the centre of our workflows, we enable both general dentists and specialists to integrate procedures and equipment from our comprehensive portfolio. This integration simplifies processes and allows for easy synchronisation with team members and lab partners, ultimately enabling exceptional patient care across various dental disciplines, including implant, restorative, endodontic and orthodontic workflows.
The EV implant family is designed for consistency and efficiency. All implants within this family utilise the same prostheses, workflows, tools, torque values and colour coding. This standardisation enhances expertise and helps minimise the need for extensive inventory and training.
By harnessing the power of these innovative solutions within a unified ecosystem of products and services, our goal is to help dental professionals deliver superior care more easily and quickly. Ultimately, this leads to more efficient, precise and personalised treatments, resulting in improved oral health outcomes and greater patient satisfaction.
In summary, our focus on technology and innovation empowers dental professionals to provide exceptional care, enabling the best possible treatment for patients and the smiles they desire.
How do some of the divisions you oversee contribute collectively to the advancement of oral health, and what synergies have you found among them?
Each of our business units contributes uniquely, yet they work synergistically to offer holistic patient care. For example, a treatment plan might involve consumables for preparatory procedures, clear aligners for orthodontic correction and implants for tooth replacement, ensuring a seamless approach to dental health.
One of the remarkable aspects of our work is seeing how the consistent evolution of techniques and technologies can come together to create revolutionary advancements. An excellent example of this is our digital implant workflow. Thorough crown-down implant planning avoids clinical and prosthetic complications, allowing dental professionals to deliver predictable results for their patients.
The process begins with taking a full-arch scan using an intra-oral scanner like Primescan. This scan data is then used to design a crown in CEREC Software. The prosthetic design is imported and matched in the implant planning software to determine the optimal implant position. This matched data can subsequently be used to design and print a surgical guide using our Primeprint 3D-printing solution.
Our solutions empower clinicians, fostering confidence in their work—a confidence that resonates with patients and builds trust. By leveraging digital dental technologies and innovative materials, we can provide dental professionals with the tools they need to deliver the best possible care for their patients.
Looking ahead, what emerging trends and innovations do you foresee shaping the future of dentistry, and how is Dentsply Sirona preparing to lead and support these developments?
As we look to the future, Dentsply Sirona is committed to transforming dentistry and improving oral health globally. By helping them achieve better and more predictable patient outcomes and by enabling easier and more efficient workflows, we work with our customers to build more sustainable and impactful practices. Our focus remains on developing solutions and providing support that addresses our customers’ most critical needs, including patient satisfaction, predictable outcomes, practice efficiency and business growth.
We aim to strengthen our role as a leading digital solutions provider by offering a unique customer experience, prioritising education, fostering innovation and providing products that support practice growth. This approach not only enhances our already loyal and solid customer base but also positions us to lead the industry through upcoming trends and innovations.
Several macro trends are set to impact the future of dentistry. In developed markets, where the dental industry is well established, there is an increased emphasis on oral health among ageing populations. Increasing globalisation is driving higher demand for access to dental care in emerging markets. As awareness and acceptance of cosmetic dentistry grow, the demand for cosmetic dental procedures will continue to rise. Digitalisation will remain a key differentiator for dental practices and labs, and digital technologies will continue to transform the industry.
One of the ways we distinguish ourselves is through our digital environment, enabled by DS Core. We are continually developing new innovations and evolving existing ones to meet the needs of our customers in order to help them work with confidence. This includes adding new functionalities to DS Core and enabling greater flexibility in the use of existing equipment.
Moreover, the new products in our pipeline, designed with expanded connectivity, will further enhance the value of embedding DS Core in digital workflows. By focusing on these innovations, we enable dental professionals to leverage the latest advancements in order to improve clinical outcomes and patient care.
