In a free Swiss Dental Academy webinar on Thursday, Feb. 27, host Melissa Obrotka will be providing educational insights on the stages of Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) that could help the entire dental team. According to Obrotka, despite the thousands of dollars invested in implantology, professionals still struggle with a standardized protocol backed by science to assist the clinician’s ability to establish early prevention detection as well as painless, proficient and effective long-term therapy options.
In the cutting-edge webinar, Obrotka will describe the latest 21st-century GBT methodology to alleviate the clinician’s anxiety in treating implant patients. Additionally, she will demonstrate how to systematically achieve the identification and removal of pathogenic biofilm by using a definitive procedure maximizing the science behind low abrasive powders.
Obrotka has more than 20 years of experience in the dental field. She is a member of the adjunct faculty in the Dental Hygiene Clinic at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey, and is co-founder of RDH Innovations and Dental Implants Uncovered. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the New Jersey Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries. Obrotka is a Hu-Friedy key opinion leader and was nationally recognized in June 2016 with the Hu-Friedy/ADHA Master Clinician Award for her outstanding clinical expertise in relating interdependence of clinical practice and patient education for the improvement of patient compliance.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “Slaying the dental implant dragon with 21st century GBT methodology,” will be broadcast live on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. EST. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
