DARMSTADT, Germany: Exocad, an Align Technology company, recently announced the release of DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka, the next generation of its CAD software for dental laboratories and full-service clinics. Having more than 45 new features and over 85 enhanced features, this new release represents exocad’s goal of optimising dental workflows for increased productivity.
“DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka is the result of our countless conversations with customers and the dedicated research of our software developers,” said Tillmann Steinbrecher, exocad’s CEO. “I’m excited about the broad scope of new features and improvements that brings more speed and smoother workflows, from treatment planning to design and manufacturing,” he continued.
Streamlined collaboration
The Smile Creator add-on module of DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka offers numerous new features, including more visualisation options, improved colour adjustment for preview images and a new before-and-after slider view. The new Smile Design report provides comprehensive documentation of the aesthetic planning process in order to benefit communication between dentists and laboratories, whereas the new Smile Window offers instant, in-face visualisation, allowing users to see what the result would look like in real time.
Reduced design time
With this new release, exocad has increased the efficiency of designing both single-unit restorations and complex maxillary and mandibular restorations. Custom tooth set-ups for multiple indications can be used across workflows for mock-up models, temporary restorations and more, whereas articulator movements can be recalculated and visualised on the fly.
DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka also expands the functionality of the Instant Anatomic Morphing feature that was introduced in DentalCAD 3.0 Galway, thereby allowing for the faster design of single-unit restorations with fewer clicks. When a preoperative scan is available, the previous anatomy is automatically copied, making it faster and easier to preserve function and anatomical shape for the patient.
The software also includes an enhanced FullDenture Module that enables posterior set-ups to be customised and delivers more control over denture set-ups. The Model Creator module, meanwhile, comes with a new Quick Models feature for highly automated model creation, saving even more time and minimising the need for user interaction during the model design stage.
Smoother integration with dental laboratory equipment
Exocad’s Virtual Articulator module provides a more accurate simulation of more real, physical articulators than any other CAD software* and for this release, exocad has added even more devices, including the popular Ivoclar Vivadent and SAM articulators.
Other major highlights of the DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka release include:
- improved case documentation with new built-in screenshot management tools for collecting, editing and tagging screenshots;
- anatomical free-forming features improving ease of use since the affected parts of the design are now visually highlighted and the user has an overview, at a glance, of the adaptation parameters to be applied; and
- a new stock abutment design workflow that enables the design of implant-based restorations based on stock abutment libraries.
In conjunction with this latest release, exocad has also launched its my.exocad portal and introduced end-user registration, which will be required in order to use DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka.
Join exocad in Mallorca
The company will be offering hands-on demonstrations of the new DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka release at exocad Insights 2022, which will take place from 3 to 4 October on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The two-day event is dedicated to digital dentistry and will include numerous opportunities for attendees to discover more about the features of DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka from dental experts and product specialists.
DentalCAD 3.1 Rijeka is now available in the EU and other select markets. Exocad names its releases after current EU European Capitals of Culture and selected the Croatian city of Rijeka for the current release cycle.
