BUENOS AIRES, Argentina: Each year, the FDI World Dental Federation hosts the FDI World Dental Congress, one of the most prestigious and influential platforms in dentistry. It is the ideal place to learn about the latest science, network with peers and keep pace with today’s rapid developments in research, according to the organizers.
For the 2018 edition, dental professionals will be meeting in the city of Buenos Aires at the La Rural congress center from Sept. 5 to 8. With an extensive scientific program, congress-goers can look forward to symposia, Meet the Expert sessions (every day during the lunch break), hands-on courses, lectures, free communication sessions and poster presentations.
The free communication sessions will entail 184 presentations over the four congress days. Each 10-minute paper will be followed by a 3-minute discussion. Attendees can expect presentations on a range of topics, with titles such as “The evaluation of dental services related posts on social media,” “2D versus 3D radiographies for impacted canine in cleft area” and “Improving safety of staff and patients by preventing sharps injuries.” The complete schedule, including all speaker names and presentation titles, can be viewed here.
As for the poster presentations, 215 dental professionals will be displaying their work at FDI 2018. Each will discuss his or her poster in a 10-minute slot and a 2-minute dialogue will follow. The range of subjects to be covered is again very varied, with poster titles like “CBCT scanning of root canal system in a Russian population” and “Role of the dentist in sports.”
FDI 2018 is accessible to certified dental professionals, associated press, industry representatives and other stakeholders in the dental equipment segment and the management and prevention of dental diseases. Registered participants will have access to all official sessions and the industry-sponsored exhibition. More information can be obtained from the official website.
All program schedules are subject to minor changes and additions. Also, it is important to note that most sessions will be held in English only. Simultaneous interpreting from English into Spanish and Spanish into English will be available in Rooms 1–6 for the main scientific program.
