COLOGNE, Germany: The new PrograScan PS7 has been designed especially for dental laboratories with high volume throughputs. It is the first high-end laboratory scanner from Ivoclar that can simultaneously capture upper and lower jaw models in just 10 seconds in a fully automated, single process. The scanner enables dental technicians to work faster and with greater efficiency and is set to impress dental professionals at this week’s International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne.
The PrograScan PS7 is equipped with two scan tables, two optical light units and eight cameras, and scans start with just one click. A scan of two models with an accuracy of 5 µm takes just 10 seconds. The scanner automatically detects any accessories and takes 2 minutes to prepare the digital models in the design software for further processing. These scans are approximately three times faster than sequential scanning procedures and thereby result in considerable time-saving. Used together with the exocad Dental CAD software, PrograScan PS7 offers straightforward and intuitive handling, much like the other laboratory scanners within the PrograScan family. The PrograScan PS7 aligns technology, software and materials, and it integrates seamlessly with Ivoclar’s proven digital workflows.
At a glance, the benefits of the PrograScan PS7 include:
- one click initiation of the entire workflow, from scan to design;
- minimum user interaction;
- capturing of models and impressions simultaneously;
- automatic detection of all accessories;
- scanning of upper and lower jaw model in 10 seconds; and
- preparation of 3D models in just 2 minutes.
Designed for the future
“We are very pleased to have taken the lead, once again, in shaping the digital dental world,” commented Tobias Specht, senior director of Ivoclar’s global business units. “With its simultaneous scan function, the new PrograScan PS7 provides a forward-thinking solution that meets the rising demands of daily dental laboratory practice,” Specht added.
