TOKYO, Japan: It has been ten years since Kuraray Medical and Noritake Dental Supply joined forces to create Kuraray Noritake Dental, and this merger has continued to deliver market-leading solutions to more than 90 countries worldwide. On 7 October, this anniversary will be honoured by the holding of a symposium under the theme “Up to now and from now on: From innovation to simplification”, and the company is inviting the entire dental team to join the celebrations.
A wealth of reliable, innovative products
Since its 2012 inception, Kuraray Noritake Dental has steadily built upon the materials and technologies developed by its forerunners thanks to a focus on innovation backed by sustained investment in R & D. The KATANA Zirconia range, for example, involves an end-to-end in-house development process that includes the production of the company’s exemplary multilayered technology. This level of control has seen Kuraray Noritake Dental expand this product line in recent years with the launch of products including the KATANA Zirconia block and KATANA Zirconia YML, a highly versatile and aesthetic ceramic dental material featuring multilayered yttria.

Of course, Kuraray Noritake Dental’s reputation as a pioneer in the field of dental adhesives is grounded in its development of the MDP monomer. Patented in 1981, the monomer was used two years later in the composite cement PANAVIA EX and has since formed the backbone of many other successful products. By combining the MDP monomer with hydrophilic amide monomers however, the company has been able to develop the rapid bond technology that powers CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick and allows this hydrophilic adhesive to penetrate wet dentine fast and effectively. The self-adhesive resin cement PANAVIA SA Cement Universal, meanwhile, contains both the MDP monomer and the proprietary LCSi monomer, enabling it to deliver a strong, durable chemical bond to porcelain, lithium disilicate and composite resin without the need for a separate primer.
Join the celebrations on 7 October
For its tenth anniversary, Kuraray Noritake Dental has invited ten international dental experts to discuss their experiences with its easy-to-use and high-quality products and technologies. In between these presentations, a number of shorter videos will highlight some of the company’s employees, who will share product development stories and provide an insight into what working at the company is like.
