PRAGUE, Czech Republic: Osstem Implant is calling for abstracts for poster presentations at the 2024 Osstem–Hiossen Meeting in Europe, to be held at Wembley Stadium in London in the UK on 22 and 23 November. Applicants have until 30 September to submit their research abstracts for a chance to win their own Crestal Approach Sinus KIT (CAS-KIT). This event will feature an extensive scientific programme presented by 16 world-leading specialists in dental implantology, offering a great opportunity for networking and reconnecting with colleagues and friends.

The CAS-KIT is highly valued by experienced implant dentists worldwide for its safety, precision and ease of use. An innovative surgical solution designed to simplify the lifting of the Schneiderian membrane from a crestal approach, the CAS-KIT features several unique components that enhance the safety, efficiency and ease of the sinus lift procedure.

The tip of the kit’s specially designed drill, the CAS-Drill, has an inverse conical shape that creates a bone lid between the drill and the membrane which works as a barrier to prevent the tearing of the membrane, rapidly and safely elevating the membrane while drilling. The drill has a unique stopper system that allows for precise osteotomy depth control, preventing over-drilling into the sinus cavity. The bone removed adheres to the drill and can be collected as bone grafting material.

Additionally, the CAS-KIT includes a hydraulic lift system that uses hydraulic pressure to lift the Schneiderian membrane safely and evenly on all sides. The Y-connector component allows the elevation of the membrane above two osteotomies simultaneously.

Furthermore, the kit’s new bone carrier system facilitates the precise transfer and placement of bone grafting materials. This system consists of a funnel-shaped bone carrier that holds particulate bone grafting material, facilitating its easy insertion into the maxillary sinus through the osteotomy; a bone condenser, which compacts the grafting material into the maxillary sinus; and a bone spreader, which helps to distribute the inserted material evenly to the sides.

This combination of components ensures a precise and efficient approach to sinus lift. With its simple and intuitive design, the CAS-KIT offers an indispensable tool for dental professionals seeking reliable and effective sinus lift solutions. The kit addresses many of the concerns of sinus lift procedures due to the confined space and the intricate anatomy of the maxillary sinus. It provides precise control to avoid perforating the delicate membrane and the resulting complications. It avoids contamination of the bone grafting materials and supports accurate placement of the materials.
