BASEL, Switzerland: More than 1,000 monthly Instagram posts containing the hashtag #EstheticDentistry provide evidence that dental professionals take great pride in their treatment having a lasting impact on their patients with dental caries and tooth loss. Through the global SmileAward, Straumann aims to highlight the best work of dentists who work tirelessly and with great professionalism to change people’s lives—one smile at a time.
In partnership with dentistry blog Zerodonto, Straumann’s SmileAward contest will invite participants to vote on the best immediate implant protocol patient cases submitted by dentists around the globe. Voting for the submitted videos will be done on Zerodonto’s Facebook page.
“We’re thrilled about implementing this ‘people’s choice’ element of our SmileAward contest,” said Holger Haderer, head of marketing and education at Straumann. “Getting real people’s input aligns with our mission to change people’s lives by giving smiles back. With this contest, we aim to see this impact in action,” he added.
The top 20 patient cases according to the public votes will be submitted to an evaluation jury of dentistry leaders. Eight finalists will then be chosen for entry to the final phase of the SmileAward contest. The grand winners will be announced during the prestigious ITI World Symposium—this year taking place online from 1 to 5 September.
“We are happy about the interest and great cases we have already received. There is still time to take part, so we encourage everyone to submit their cases,” said Alizia Trambaiolo, director and head of global medical marketing and excellence at Straumann.
Straumann is calling on dentists to submit videos and testimonials of their best implantology cases using Straumann products for immediate protocols by 9 July. Dental professionals can find more information on the award here and submit their cases via the Straumann SmileAward 2021 submission page.
