BERLIN, Germany: On 28 and 29 June, DDS.Berlin, the first edition of the Digital Dentistry Show, successfully launched at the ARENA BERLIN. The event attracted nearly 80 exhibitors and over 1,000 participants, half of the attendees coming from Germany. The summit also saw a significant presence of dental professionals from other European countries and beyond.

The event featured more than 50 speakers, many of whom are experts from the Digital Dentistry Society, presenting 32 lectures. These lectures covered a myriad of topics related to digital dentistry and its applications in daily dental practice. Highlights included presentations by Prof. Christos Angelopoulos, Dr Luís Bessa, Dr Leon Emdin, Dr Raquel Zita Gomes, Dr Anne Heinz, Dr Miloš Ljubičič and Dr Paul Schuh, who demonstrated the applications of digital technologies in their patient cases.

In addition to the lectures, over 20 workshops were held, attracting 300 participants. These workshops provided hands-on learning experiences in various cutting-edge areas, including intra-oral scanning, digital implant placement, chairside workflows, dynamic data acquisition, 3D printing and artificial intelligence-assisted treatment planning.

Holger Emmert, head of marketing for SprintRay Europe, commented: “We are positively surprised by the quality of the participants and the very specific questions being asked. The general knowledge of the participants is higher than what we normally encounter at a trade show or conference.”

“DDS.Berlin is an important gathering of scientific and industry groups […] Unlike some of the other larger conferences where there is a more general focus, this event is a great opportunity to really have the focus squarely on digital,” said Connie Peterse-van der Koppel, principal scientific adviser at NextDent by 3D Systems.

The event’s scientific programme coordinator, Dr Henriette Lerner, who is a past president of the Digital Dentistry Society, added: “Digital dentistry represents the present and future of our practice. The value of this event lies in the convergence of the newest technological companies and the sharing of clinical applications through workshops and lectures.”

DDS.Berlin also livestreamed the lectures, and they will soon be available on demand.

The next edition of DDS.Berlin is scheduled for 26 and 27 June 2026, promising to continue the momentum of innovation and collaboration in digital dentistry.
