NEW YORK, U.S.: The daily routine to avoid cross-infection in the dental office is never ending. However, the consequences of an outbreak are even worse, seriously placing a dental practice’s reputation on the line. In an upcoming free webinar on Tuesday, Dec. 12, participants will learn how to optimize the infection prevention workflow, giving staff and patients the best protection against cross-contamination.

According to webinar host Dr. Livia Barenghi, her lecture is based on current scientific information applied to efficiency and error awareness. In the presentation, participants will learn about identifying infection prevention regulations within the EU regulatory framework, applying top infection control practices for clinical contact surfaces and dental unit water quality, and common errors and lapses in daily infection control measures.

Barenghi graduated with a degree in biological sciences and is a specialist in biochemistry and clinical chemistry with over 20 years’ experience working in dental offices as a dental assistant and in management. She is a speaker, trainer, author and consultant, and has worked with dental teams for over ten years on infection prevention and safety according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations and the Italian and EU regulatory frameworks.

The 1-hour webinar, titled “The daily fight to limit cross-infection in a dental office,” will be broadcast live on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 12 p.m. EST (New York). Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
