This year’s congress of the World Federation for Laser Dentistry European Division in Thessaloniki, Greece was alive with energy and enthusiasm and a record number of exhibitors. Fotona’s exhibition space attracted a steady flow of dental professionals eager to see the latest models of LightWalker in action. One enthusiastic dental student was so impressed that he even described LightWalker as the “Ferrari of dental Lasers”.
All LightWalker laser systems now include Fotona’s patented third-generation Adaptive Structured Pulse (ASP) technology, which combines the company’s unsurpassed range of pulse duration modes with revolutionary new capabilities to enhance laser-tissue interaction, resulting in faster and more effective treatments, as well as entirely new treatment possibilities.
Fotona’s Laser Endodontic treatment was also a major hit at the congress with its revolutionary SWEEPS (shock wave enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming) mode. SWEEPS utilizes the power of Fotona’s breakthrough ASP technology to deliver an optimal sequence of shock waves into the cleaning and debriding solution, reaching deep into lateral canals and microscopic tubules to deeply disinfect dentinal walls by removing tissue, debris, biofilm and bacteria.
Fotona also organised a very successful one-hour workshop which included an overview of the company’s latest dental innovations, followed by lectures by Dr. Dimitrios Velonis on pediatric dentistry and Dr. Ilay Maden on LightWalker’s key benefits in dentistry, as well as a live demonstration by Dr. Antonis Kallis showcasing some of LightWalker’s advanced cutting capabilities.
