OsteoBiol GTO: The sticky xenograft

OsteoBiol’s latest product, GTO, is the result of years of research, culminating in an innovative bone grafting material. This material combines xenogenic bone granules embedded with collagen and a mixture of collagen gel with an aqueous solution of a biocompatible thermosensitive copolymer, which has a long history of use in the pharmaceutical industry.

The gel mixture provides mechanical stability to GTO Dual-Phase granules during the grafting procedure. It is rapidly resorbed, favouring the biological regenerative process. Additionally, it ensures optimal stickiness of the biomaterial, making the collagenic sticky bone graft easily adaptable to the recipient site and extremely stable. GTO grafting allows a biological response of the host tissue similar to autogenous bone. In fact, in most regenerative protocols, it can be used as an alternative to autologous bone.

GTO has been developed and conceived as a universal filler; nonetheless, graft protection with a membrane or barrier, such as OsteoBiol Evolution or Lamina, is always recommended to protect and stabilise the graft.
