OT-Equator Attachments

OT-Equators combine the simplicity of Ball Attachments, with the variety of retention levels and easy replacement options of Locators. However OT-Equators offer many totally unique design benefits that the other systems lack: A significantly lower height and smaller diameter, hygiene-friendly construction and simple affordability to name a few.

Implant supported overdentures can dramatically improve the quality of life for edentulous patients; restoring masticatory function and enhancing physical appearance. However it has not always been an option for the patients who needed it most  – specifically the elderly.

Looking back 15 years, patients having lost their teeth long before, had little faith that any solution existed for them. They were either not physically up to the rigors of the lengthy surgery required at the time in placing 6-8 implants to support a full denture, or they simply couldn’t afford it. But problems were not only due to patient limitations.

Overdenture biomechanics also required a solution that would allow removability, stability yet flexibility in the face of the physical forces exerted on both the mandible and maxilla. “MIS engineers, along with our clients; doctors from around the world, view MIS OT-Equators as the answer”, says Elad Ginat, MIS Implants Products Manager.

OT-Equators can be used in all clinical scenarios that require an implant supported crown, bridge or complete overdenture, yet their smaller size makes them uniquely suited for tight places or where space is limited.

“Especially for overdentures, OT-Equators provide good stability and retention, plus improved esthetics and reduced residual ridge resorption, with as few as two to four implants; reducing both the trauma and high cost associated with placing more implants”, explains Elad.

MIS OT-Equators feature a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating for maximum resistance to wear, a small-scale metal housing and replaceable nylon caps suitable for various retention levels that can be replaced easily within seconds. Retention caps are made of highly resilient and flexible materials allowing for movement of up to 8 degrees from the axis of the abutment without misalignment or retention loss. OT-Equators can be used to restore implants with divergence issues of up to 30 degrees.

MIS OT-Equators are backed by MIS quality in both materials and workmanship. MIS superstructures undergo quality inspections performed via SEM microscope and XPS Analysis, and the proven MIS surface quality is well documented. All MIS products are manufactured and packaged in accordance with the most stringent international standards.

“Dental professionals with a passion for improving their edentulous patient’s quality-of-life will want to offer a complete removable denture solution that gives them comfort and esthetics, stability, good retention and long-wear. In short, they will want to take advantage of the MIS OT-Equator system”, Elad concludes.
